Frances Mariani is an emerging screen producer based in Melbourne, Australia. Her work explores ideas about identity, gender and belonging - and she has a soft spot for stories that find the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Her work has screened locally and internationally at festivals including the Melbourne International Film Festival, St Kilda Film Festival, Perth Revelation International Film Festival, Harlem International Film Festival, and St. Louis International Film Festival. She is currently in post-production on the short narrative film Flood, written/directed by Robert Frantzeskos.

Frances’ transition into filmmaking builds on an extensive career in the creative industries in media and communications. She’s worked with organisations including Flood Projects (lead by acclaimed Australian writer/director Amiel Courtin-Wilson), the ABC, ACMI, NBCU/Matchbox Pictures, Melbourne International Film Festival, the National Gallery of Victoria, and Creative Victoria.

An alumni of the Victorian College of the Arts Film & TV Foundations course, Frances holds a Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts.

Frances is open to producing screen content across all formats. If you’d like to chat about a potential collaboration or request a screener link, please get in touch.
